with pre-sessional classes - to prepare
you for your major course in advance.
In addition, the English Language
Centre offers a range of exam courses
such as Cambridge or Pitman exams
at various levels of General and Business
English.
All courses have computer-assisted
language learning components and students
are encouraged to use computers at
the Learning Resources Centres for
self-study.
The Centre also provides training
and refresher courses for teachers
of EFL. These are specialist courses
for those who wish to teach English
Language anywhere in the world.
The English Language Centre of Wigan
and Leigh College is pleased to offer
preparatory courses in IELTS for international
students. Universities and Colleges will expect
different IELTS scores for different
courses.
Dedicated staff within the English
Language Centre will assess your ability
of English Language as soon as possible,
and then provide the necessary programme,
to prepare you for the test. When
they feel that you are ready to take
the test, they will provide you with
an application form and further information
on the IELTS test, and inform you
of the test fee at the time of your
application.
The local test centres for Wigan
and Leigh College are based at the
University of Liverpool and UMIST
in Manchester. Tests take place approximately
once a month and the results are issued
within two weeks of the date of the
test. |
