3. Attend a College interview
Once we have received your application
form you will receive a postcard acknowledging
receipt of your application. The next
step is that you should receive a
letter asking you to attend an interview.
The Interview
Your interview should last around
half an hour to an hour and will be
conducted by a tutor who teaches
on that particular course.
The interview
is nothing to be worried about - it
gives you the chance to find out more
about the College and your chosen
course, as well as making sure the
course you have chosen is right for
you. You may wish to bring a parent
/guardian/carer with you.
Some courses may also require you to complete a pre-test - i.e. Construction Crafts.
If you have applied for a course within Art & Design you will be asked to bring your art portfolio for your interviewer to view.
If you have applied for a Performing Arts course may have to audition in your chosen discipline as well as have an interview.
Your interview letter will clearly state what your interview will require, if you have any queries please contact College Admissions on 01942 761605 where a member of the team will be happy to clarify anything for you.

4. Return your acceptance slip
If you are offered a place on a course,
you will receive a confirmation letter.
You may be given a conditional offer. This means you will only be accepted on to this particular course if you attain the correct entry requirements. If you are given an unconditional offer, this means you have a place on this course, no matter what GCSE results you get.
If you decide to accept the place on the course, simply return the acceptance slip at the bottom of the letter confirming your decision (no stamp necessary). It is important to return this slip as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in your place being offered to someone else.
Dont worry - returning this slip does not mean you have to study at Wigan & Leigh College; what it does mean is that you have a place reserved at the College should you decide to take it in September 2011.

5. Enrol - GCSE Results day
If
you have already applied and been
accepted on a full-time course, you
will receive a letter in the summer,
giving you details of when and where
to enrol. Full-time
enrolment begins on GCSE Results Day.
Please remember to bring along your GCSE Results to the enrolment session as proof will be required of your examination results.
At enrolment you will then be given information about the date you will actually start College.
