Family Learning with Wigan & Leigh College
Family Learning is offered in schools, children's centres and community venues throughout the Wigan Borough as part of a partnership between Wigan Council and Wigan & Leigh College. Last year we delivered over 100 courses in over 50 venues, with over 800 learners enrolled to our courses.

Our free courses help parents and carers gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to support children’s learning, while at the same time developing their own skills and knowledge in those subject areas. The Informal atmosphere encourages our learners to get to know each other and also become more involved in their child's school/children's centre.
Many of our learners have the opportunity to gain Literacy or Numeracy qualifications through our Family Learning courses.  Learners are encouraged and guided to progress on to further learning at college or adult community venues.
