Top-up Degree
These courses are aimed at those who have successfully completed a Foundation Degree or HND and want to progress to a full honours degree.
Foundation Degree
Our Foundation Degrees have been developed in collaboration with employers. It is a university degree that can be obtained after only two years’ full-time or three years’ part-time study at Wigan & Leigh College and is one level below an Honours Degree.
Our Foundation Degrees will prepare you for employment in areas where there is a demand for higher technical skills. After successfully achieving your Foundation Degree you may be able to top-up your Foundation Degree to a full Honours Degree in approximately one year.
Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) and Higher National Certificates (HNCs)
Designed with employers in mind, students develop a range of useful skills through projects, assignments and practical work. They provide a route to university and, with some subjects, enable entry into the second or final year of a Degree programme. Students successfully completing their HND/Cs are able to top-up their qualification, in some subjects, to a Degree at Wigan & Leigh College.
Professional qualifications
Professional qualifications are usually studied part-time and are aimed at adults who wish to develop their professional careers. The College has a wide range of courses, such as, AAT, CIPD, CMI, ILM and NEBOSH plus many more.
