Students learn the art of Chinese medicine

This week Wigan & Leigh College hosted representatives from the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Students currently studying Beauty Therapy at the College met She Jun, an expert in acupuncture and Chinese massage.  She Jun demonstrated the intricate art of acupuncture and how this could be used to ease common problems such as back pain. The students practiced their new found acupuncture skills on oranges, whilst She Jun demonstrated his techniques on one of the students. Louise Gray, Divisional Manager for Beauty and Holistic Therapy commented:

“The treatment was experienced by one of our students which was amazing.  We all watched in wonder as the needles were inserted strategically along the spine, in a treatment to alleviate back pain.  It was fascinating, and a fantastic experience for our students.”
