Welcome to the Department
Hi, my name is Paul Heald and I’m one of the Assistant Principals at Wigan & Leigh College and also Head of Science. I started my career as a sports lecturer and held that position for 12 years before moving into curriculum management. I moved to Wigan & Leigh just over two years ago and have taken over an outstanding department.
Whilst being here we have established a number of links with biotechnology specialists, universities and key sector stakeholders. My team are fantastic and the lecturers come from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds, from genetics to scientific communications. You will be fortunate enough that they will all teach you whilst studying with us. We look forward to meeting you and becoming part of our science department.
