Accounting Apprentices will undertake all academic and work based training to achieve Level 3 AAT Standard in Accounting.

During your Apprenticeship your skills will be developed in the following areas:

  • Customer care
  • Produce documents using appropriate computer applications
  • Use of office equipment
  • Managing own performance in a business environment
  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Appropriately handle confidential information

As an accounting apprentice you will work under the direct supervision of a mentor/buddy and be supported by a work based assessor from Wigan & Leigh College.

This is an opportunity to begin your career in the accounts department of a charity based organisation.

Level 2/3 combined AAT Apprenticeship is an opportunity to start/build a career within a Finance Department, where the post holder will gain experience across a range of duties. Predominantly this will be processing transactions on the purchase, sales and general ledger along with payroll administration.

You will report to Finance officer who will be your mentor and support on a day to day basis.

The role and duties will include:

  • Inputting information onto accountancy software
  • Process invoices and statements from suppliers cash and bank expenses
  • Reconcile payments from customers and payments to suppliers
  • Assist with cash and bank reconciliations
  • Preparing spreadsheets and reports
  • Chasing overdue payments
