    ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION

Do you dream of going to university but don’t have the qualifications you need? Then an Access to HE course could be for you.

The Access to HE Diploma courses are a fast-track route into higher education for adults aged 19 and over. They require a high level of commitment on time in order to achieve the right level of academic development needed to progress onto university.
Access to HE students can progress onto a variety of degrees depending on which pathway you choose, including: nursing, midwifery, social sciences, paramedics, social work, health sciences, sport and physiotherapy and primary teaching.
You are advised to check the individual entry requirements with your chosen university. Students applying for primary teaching and some health care courses will also need grade C in GCSE science.

The Access to HE Diploma programmes are well regarded amongst universities across the UK.

Our students secure places at some of the top universities including:

    • Edge Hill University
    • University of Central Lancashire
    • Salford University
    • Manchester Metropolitan University
    • The University of Manchester
    • Liverpool John Moores University

Many students do not have to pay the full course fees as funding, fee remission and loans are available depending on your circumstances.

If you are aged 19-23 and do not currently have a full Level 3 qualification, then the course may be free.
If you do have a full Level 3 qualification then you can apply for the Advanced Learner Loan. This does not have to be paid back if you then go on to university and successfully complete your chosen degree.

Preparation for an Access to Higher Education (HE) course

This course is designed for anyone who needs to build up their English, maths and/or science GCSE (Level 2) profile in order to gain entry on to their chosen Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma.
We can help you choose which GCSEs to study depending on your current qualifications and which Access to Higher Education pathway you wish to pursue.
