A career in plastering can be diverse and rewarding. This industry requires a high level of skill and precision.
You will need a steady hand and a head for heights to use ladders and working platforms to undertake internal and external duties. You will start at Level 1 and build the skills and knowledge to progress to Level 2 and 3.
On completion of the Level 3 programme you will have the confidence and ability to gain an apprenticeship or employment within the industry.
What will I study?
Students will carry out safe working practices in construction, use information, quantities and communicate with others, learn building methods and construction technology, prepare background surfaces and plaster materials, apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds and produce components from moulds.
Students will progress to learn how to apply plaster materials to external surfaces, fix dry lining and plasterboard products to interiors, form sand and cement screeds, produce plaster components, apply plaster materials to internal surfaces, position and secure fibrous plaster components and a practical assessment.
