Is this course for me?
This course is ideal if you are interested in how businesses operate and want to develop knowledge of areas such as marketing, finance, management and entrepreneurship. It suits students who enjoy working with real business examples, solving problems and understanding how organisations make decisions.
Students taking this qualification will normally study it alongside at least two full A Levels, making it a great option for those wanting a mixed academic and vocational programme.
You will study a range of business topics, including:
Business structures and operations
Marketing and promotion
Finance and budgeting
Recruitment and human resources
The impact of the external environment on businesses
Developing entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills
The course combines business theory with the application of knowledge to real-life business scenarios.
Assessment is through a combination of:
External examinations
Coursework and internally assessed assignments
You will complete tasks based on realistic business situations and case studies.
Full time for two academic years
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-5 including Maths and English
This course can lead to:
University study in Business, Marketing, Management, Finance or Accounting
Higher apprenticeships and careers in business administration, retail, marketing, finance or human resources
Employment within a wide range of business sectors
