This course is ideal if you are interested in the human body, health and disease, and how biology applies to real-life situations. It suits students who prefer a more applied, coursework-based approach rather than a fully exam-based A Level. You should enjoy practical work, research and scientific investigation, and be interested in careers linked to health or science.
Students taking this qualification will normally study it alongside at least two full A Levels, making it a great option for those wanting a mixed academic and vocational programme.

2 years (full-time qualification) Equivalent in size to an A Level
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-5 including Maths and English
A science GCSE is recommended
University or further study in health sciences, nursing, biomedical science or applied biology
Careers in healthcare, laboratory work, sports science or public health
Apprenticeships and vocational pathways in science and health-related fields
