To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to learn the following; Plaiting, Hand care, Create an image using colour, Professional image and an Introduction to the hair and beauty sector.

As well as Hair and beauty skills you will work towards community work, employability and occupational studies qualifications that will give you transferable, essential skills to get into work and succeed in the workplace.

To complete the qualification, you will also study towards your functional skills enabling you to apply maths and English skills effectively, in real-world situations

Full Time for one academic year

There are no formal entry requirements. Places are allocated following an interview, based on an applicant's demonstrated motivation, appropriate and safe behaviour and willingness to learn.

When you have successfully completed this qualification will have the opportunity to progress to the following qualifications:

• Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing or

• Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy

GCSE English and maths

You are required to:

Be ready - Present a professional image in the salon environment by wearing uniform - this can be purchased from the college

Be respectful - Communicate and behave professionally in the salon and college environment - you will be required to give and receive treatments

Be safe - Follow safe and hygienic working practices to include bringing correct tools and equipment - this can be purchased from the college

Students aged 16-18 do not pay exam fees.

Students aged 19+ will need to pay an exam fee of £85.00
