Early Years Practitioner Diploma
Is this course for me?
If you want a rewarding career working in a childcare setting we have number of routes for you to follow. This course will provide you knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work in this area. This qualification will consider you qualified to support young children from birth to 5 years. This course is specifically for adults. You will need to have a clear DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) to work in the childcare sector. Work placements will supplement your studies, and our industry professional tutors will help you to maximise your full potential.
Learners will undertake a programme of study comprising 4 themes introducing the role of the early years practitioner, legislation, framework and professional practice, play, development and learning for school and professional development. Learners will also complete Maths and English to an appropriate level. There is a large element of work experience included in this course, 250 hours over the course of the year.
Through assessment in the work place, and a range of assessment methods in college to include assignments and reflective practice.
Full Time for one academic year
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 or equivalent including English or maths.
Employment as Nursery Assistant within the Early Years Sector, or progression to a Level 3 course subject to completion of the course and a successful interview.
Successful DBS required
