Introduction to Health & Social Care Diploma
Is this course for me?
This course is designed for learners who wish to explore and gain the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed for career progression in health, social care, or children's settings. It offers a broad range of optional units to tailor learning to individual interests, develops transferable skills, and supports progression to Level 2 qualifications, ultimately preparing learners for employment opportunities in various roles within the care sectors.
In this course, you will study the key principles and values in Health & Social Care, explore the range of professions and services within the sector, and gain awareness of safeguarding practices to ensure the well-being of individuals in care settings.
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board, direct observation or reflective practice. The qualifications will be pass or refer and all the assessment criteria for the chosen units must be achieved in order to obtain a pass.
Three days per week for one academic year
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-2 or equivalent.
The qualification provides a stepping stone for those who wish to move into employment and complete either a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or a Level 2 Diploma in Child Care.

Students aged 19+ will need to pay an exam fee of £99.00
