Music (Practice) Extended Diploma
Is this course for me?
Our courses are designed for students who are passionate about music and interested in developing the practical and technical skills needed to work in this exciting industry. You will learn in the very best facilities, in a dedicated centre that is vibrant and energetic. You will explore a wide range of music genres and work with a professional team of tutors who bring a wealth of industry experience. We will also provide you with a valuable insight into how the music industry works and relevant career opportunities.
The course is delivered in module form, each one is designed to give you the knowledge and skills required to help you move towards a career in the music business. Some modules involve practical study of different styles and genres of popular music, and lead to live music events. Other areas of study include music technology, recording, singing, composition and arranging. Some modules are designed to give you important knowledge of how the music business works and what career opportunities exist.
Assessment is through a balance of practical work, performances and written assignments. There are no formal examinations.
Full time for two academic years
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-4 including maths or English. You will need to successfully pass an audition.
You will develop skills for both work and/or university. Many of our ex students are currently enjoying successful careers as musicians, sound engineers and educators.
Students will work with a professional team of staff with a broad experience of the entertainment industry. If you are 16-18 years old, you may be eligible for our FREE bus pass. Find out more at Free Bus Travel

Students aged 19+ will need to pay an exam fee of £250.00
