Is this course for me?
The structure of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career as a nail technician.
This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including: enhance and maintain nails using UV gel and liquid and powder.
You will also develop your understanding and skills by designing and creating nail art, air brush designs, enhancing nails with electric files, wraps, promoting products and contributing to the financial effectiveness of a business.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and nail product knowledge. You will develop a range of technical skills in nail enhancements, using a variety of different products, tools and techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
Creation of a Portfolio
Practical assessments - completed on both peers and the general public
Knowledge based assessments (through the completion of work booklets)
Knowledge based on-line exams
GCSE Maths and English exams if required
Full Time for one academic year
A level 2 qualification in either Nail Technology or Beauty Therapy
Employment
You are required to:
Be ready - Present a professional image in the salon environment by wearing a uniform - this can be purchased from the college
Be respectful - Communicate and behave professionally in the salon and college environment - you will be required to give and receive treatments
Be safe - Follow safe and hygienic working practices to include bringing correct tools and equipment - this can be purchased from the college

Students aged 16-18 do not pay exam fees.
Students aged 19+ will need to pay an exam fee of £131.00
