Is this course for me?
Do you love understanding what shapes our world and how UK and USA politics impact us all? Do you know your Trump from your Starmer and your Blair from your Barack. Then this is the subject for you.
You'll study the UK political system including the role of the PM, Parliament and the Supreme Court along with why democracy and participation is changing in Britain in relation to political parties, pressure groups and the media. A Level study includes a deep dive into the politics of the USA and how the US political structure has developed over the last 20 years.
2 exams at AS Level (1 hour 45 minutes each)
3 exams at A Level (2 ours each)
Full-time for two academic years.
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-5 including English and Maths. 2 GCSE subjects graded 9-6 (one in an essay-based subject).
Politics is a great gateway subject into a range of qualifications at university including Business, Law, Journalism and other essay-based subjects. It is also respected by employers who love to see that you can construct arguments and understand the world around you.
You will have the opportunity to meet key political figures, both locally and nationally, and attend debates which can inspire and broaden your political thinking.

Students aged 16-18 do not pay exam fees.
Students aged 19+ will need to pay an exam fee of £62.00
