Women's Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma
Is this course for me?
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of Health and Safety practice, Anatomy and Physiology.
You will also develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in hairdressing to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own basic salon services.
Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; the creative art of cutting or dressing hair, how to provide effective shampooing and conditioning services, the artistic skill of colouring and lightening hair and how to provide a good consultation service for your clients.
Creation of a Portfolio
Practical assessments - completed on both peers and the general public
Knowledge based assessments (through the completion of work booklets)
Knowledge based on-line exams
GCSE Maths and English exams if required
Full Time for one academic year.
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 including English or maths.
When you have successfully completed this qualification will have the opportunity to progress to one of the following qualifications:
• Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
• Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Level 2 Diploma in Make up Artistry
• Level 2 Diploma in Nail Technology
You are required to:
Be ready - Present a professional image in the salon environment by wearing a uniform - this can be purchased from the college
Be respectful - Communicate and behave professionally in the salon and college environment - you will be required to give and receive treatments
Be safe - Follow safe and hygienic working practices to include bringing correct tools and equipment - this can be purchased from the college

Students aged 16-18 do not pay exam fees.
Students aged 19+ will need to pay an exam fee of £139.00
