Business Extended Diploma
Is this course for me?
If you're serious about a future in business, management, marketing, or entrepreneurship, this course is designed for you. Equivalent to three A Levels, it's ideal if you want to progress to university or step into a professional business career. Gain a deeper understanding of the modern corporate world. Our academic and industry professionals incorporate the latest commercial developments into the programmes, with an insight into marketing, finance and human resources. You will explore a range of business services and gain experience through a work placement. On completion of the course you may choose to specialise in one area and continue to study at university or at the College on a HND in Business.
The Level 3 Extended Diploma includes the study of core and optional units. The Core units include: Business Resources, Marketing and the Business Environment. Optional units are taken from: accounting, marketing and HRM specialist areas. As part of the programme of study you will also undertake work related activities to enhance employability skills. You will also study English and maths unless you have already achieved a Grade C or 4/5 at GCSE.
Assessment is a combination of:
Coursework and assignments
Externally assessed units (set tasks/exams)
Presentations, reports, and project work
Full time for two academic years
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-4 or equivalent or equivalent including maths or English.
This qualification opens doors to:
University degrees (e.g. Business Management, Marketing, Finance, HR)
Higher apprenticeships
Employment in roles such as:
Marketing Assistant
Business Administrator
Retail or Team Leader
Junior Manager
