Is this course for me?
Budding entrepreneurs and those with a flair for business will gain a deeper understanding of the modern corporate world from this qualification. It is ideal for you to develop an understanding of the essential skills required to work successfully in a business environment, and gives you an understanding of business culture and responsibilities. This qualification also allows you to develop the skills required to solve problems, communicate and work effectively with others, and gives you the opportunity to learn how to manage and improve your own performance in a business environment.
You will study modules such as Business Culture and Responsibilities, Customer Service, Solving Problems in a Business Environment, Innovation in a Business and Environment and Contribute to Running a Project. You will also study English and maths unless you already hold a Grade 4 GCSE. The programme of study will also entail work related learning.
Assessment is through a combination of:
Coursework and assignments
Portfolio of evidence
Practical tasks and presentations
Full time for one academic year
A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-3 or equivalent including maths or English.
You can progress onto the Business Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma, pursue apprenticeship opportunities or secure employment. There are many career prospects including Marketing Officer/Manager/Director, Accounting Technician, Accountant, Human Resources Officer/Manager, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Management Consultant, Recruitment Consultant, Training Manager and Social Media Manager.
