GCSE Science
Is this course for me?
Single Award Science is an interesting course that covers all three branches of Science. Many courses, such as teaching and nursing, expect a grade C in Science as an entry qualification. This course is particularly suited to those who did not achieve this while in full-time education.
The course is made up of 4 components: 1) Biology - including keeping healthy, DNA and evolution and our impact on the environment, 2) Chemistry - including atoms and molecules, the importance of metals and oils and effects on the Earth and the atmosphere, 3) Physics - including heat transfer, electricity and the Big Bang theory and 4) Controlled Assessment - a practical investigation which is carried out in class and assessed by two 'in-class' exams.
