Principles of Care Planning Level 2 Certificate

Those who require support within the care sector need to be treated with respect and dignity. This course will develop your understanding of assessments, planning, implementation and reviews and equip you with the skills required to provide high quality care. You will learn the principles and processes of person-centred care, including the promotion of health and wellbeing. You will develop an understanding of supporting people's needs and preferences as part of their care package.
For those who want to develop knowledge and skills relating to care and support for a career in the social care sector. You will develop an understanding of your responsibilities when caring for and supporting people.
Aims:
• Develop knowledge of person-centred thinking, planning, and review.
• Understand support planning, health and well-being promotion, personal hygiene, continence management, and sleep support.
Objectives:
• Prepare learners for employment in roles where care planning knowledge is essential.
This course is split into six manageable units:
Unit 1: Understanding person-centred thinking and planning
Unit 2: Care planning for the care worker
Unit 3: Understanding nutrition and hydration in health and social care settings
Unit 4: Principles of support to maintain personal hygiene
Unit 5: Understanding continence care
Unit 6: Principles of supporting sleep
You will complete online platform-based questions — there are no exams and no grades.
To pass, you must show that you have met all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria set out in the qualification specification.
Our qualified assessors will give you detailed feedback, 1:1 support, and clear targets to help you succeed.
Support is available through the learning portal, email, or phone.
If your work doesn't meet the required standard, you will receive feedback, a new target date, and the chance to resubmit.
This course runs over 24 weeks and includes a recommended 155 guided learning hours (GLH). You can apply at any time, with flexible start dates available throughout the year.
There is no specific prior skill or knowledge required for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved a level 1 health and social care-related qualification.
We recommend you already have at least a Level 1 in English (GCSE grade 3/D or equivalent).
