Common Health Conditions Level 2 Certificate
Is this course for me?
In the UK today there are a large number of people living with a common health condition. These conditions impact in a variety of ways but they all require continual management to minimise the affect they have on day-to-day life. You will not only gain an awareness of the signs, symptoms and treatments available for a variety of common health conditions, but you will also learn how to care for individuals and enable them to manage, monitor and control their condition.
This qualification is ideal for those already working in, or intending to work in, the healthcare sector. It is also suitable for those who wish to further understand a variety of common health conditions they may encounter among people in their care. Carrying out this course demonstrates a willingness to understand how to care for individuals who are living with the effects of common health conditions.
Aims:
• Develop knowledge and understanding of various common health conditions.
• Understand how to monitor the health of individuals affected by health conditions.
Objectives:
• Prepare learners for further training and to support roles in the workplace involving individuals with health conditions.
This course is split into six manageable units:
Unit 1: Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of those affected by health conditions
Unit 4: Introductory awareness of sensory loss
Unit 5: Stroke awareness
Unit 7: Arthritis awareness
Unit 8: Dementia awareness
Unit 13: Parkinson's disease awareness
You will complete online platform-based questions — there are no exams and no grades.
To pass, you must show that you have met all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria set out in the qualification specification.
Our qualified assessors will give you detailed feedback, 1:1 support, and clear targets to help you succeed.
Support is available through the learning portal, email, or phone.
If your work doesn't meet the required standard, you will receive feedback, a new target date, and the chance to resubmit.
This course runs over 16 weeks and includes a recommended 121 guided learning hours (GLH). You can apply at any time, with flexible start dates available throughout the year.
There is no specific prior skill or knowledge required for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved a level 1 health and social care-related qualification.
We recommend you already have at least a Level 1 in English (GCSE grade 3/D or equivalent).
