The Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma develops the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to work competently in electrical installation.
You will study a range of advanced topics, including:
Health, safety and environmental considerations in electrical installation
Electrical science and principles
Installation of electrical systems in domestic, commercial and industrial environments
Inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations
Diagnosis and rectification of electrical faults
Understanding electrical drawings, specifications and regulations
Requirements of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
Planning, organisation and working practices
Communication, teamwork and employability skills
Learning takes place through a combination of practical workshop sessions using industry?standard equipment and extensive classroom?based theory.
Assessment is designed to reflect real industry expectations and covers both practical and theoretical competence.
You will be assessed through:
Practical assessments carried out in workshop environments
Tutor observation of electrical installation and testing work
Written knowledge assessments and assignments
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and focuses on working safely, accurately and to industry standards.
Full-Time for one academic year.
This is a progression route for learners that have successfully completed Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation Qualification.
This qualification is a key step towards becoming a fully qualified electrician and building a long?term career in the electrical and building services industry. Successful completion of this qualification can lead to an Electrical Installation Apprenticeship.
