Modules are designed to deepen your understanding of education as a discipline and prepare you for professional and academic progression.
The modules listed in bold are core (mandatory) modules. Additional optional modules * are also included to make up the total credits required for your qualification — these are chosen by course leaders and maybe subject to change.
Assessment is varied and designed to reflect the academic and professional demands of the sector. You'll be assessed through:
• Written assignments and reports
• Presentations and debates
• Reflective journals
• Independent research project
There are no formal exams — assessments are coursework-based and support the development of transferable skills.
You'll study full-time — giving you time to balance work, life, and learning.
You should hold a relevant Level 5 qualification, such as a Foundation Degree in Children, Young People and their Services or a related discipline (e.g. Early Years, Childhood Studies, or Teaching and Learning Support).
Applicants may also be considered with relevant professional experience and qualifications, subject to interview and approval from the awarding university.
