HND (HTQ) Construction Management for England (Construction Site Supervisor) - Sept Part Time Day - awarded by Pearson
Is this course for me?
Do you see yourself leading construction teams, managing activity on-site, and making sure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to spec?
This course is for those who've already completed a relevant Level 4 qualification (like an HNC) and are ready to step into supervisory or site management roles. It's designed for people who want to be hands-on — coordinating trades, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
You'll develop the skills to manage resources, lead teams, monitor compliance, and tackle the fast-paced demands of a live construction site. From health and safety to project control, this course equips you with the technical knowledge and leadership abilities employers are looking for.
If you're already working in the sector or looking to move up into a site supervisor or assistant site manager role, this qualification gives you the confidence, credibility, and practical skills to get there.
We know you're balancing life, work, and study — which is why this course is delivered flexibly to fit around your commitments. We offer September and January start dates.
Want to run a better site, lead a stronger team, and build a successful career? This course is for you.
The North-West Construction & Technology Excellence College (CTEC) at Wigan & Leigh College provides high-quality training for careers in construction. It was created in response to the need for around 40,000 new workers to fill construction jobs across the UK.
Construction is a modern industry with a wide range of opportunities. It combines technology, creativity, and practical skills, including digital design, 3D modelling, and more sustainable methods of building.
CTEC courses are developed with employers, ensuring you gain the skills companies are actively looking for. You'll build real experience and develop the knowledge employers value, helping you stand out when applying for apprenticeships or jobs.
This HND builds on your Level 4 knowledge and focuses on the real-world skills and responsibilities required to manage construction sites safely, efficiently, and professionally.
You'll explore how to lead teams, manage health and safety, ensure compliance, and keep projects moving forward on time and on budget.
The course includes units such as:
• Group Project
• Project Management
• Advanced Construction Drawing and Detailing

• Personal Professional Development
• Construction Technology for Complex Building Projects

This qualification prepares you to step confidently into site supervision roles and progress within the industry.
Assessment is practical and work-focused. You'll complete:
• Written assignments
• Coursework based on real-life scenarios
• Project work
All assessments are internally set and marked, reflecting tasks and situations you'd experience in industry. The focus is on helping you build real-world skills that employers value.
You'll study 1 day per week for 2 years. This part-time format is designed to work alongside your job or personal commitments.
To apply, you'll need successful completion of a HNC in Construction Management.
This course opens up a range of exciting next steps:
• Employment - Ideal preparation for supervisory or technician roles in construction
• Higher or Degree Apprenticeships - Use this qualification as a stepping stone to further structured training
• Top-Up Degree - After your HND, you can progress to a full honours degree at university
This course can also be delivered as part of a higher or degree apprenticeship.

You'll learn from tutors who bring real-world experience to the classroom — from chartered engineers to quantity surveyors, legal professionals, and site managers.
Our team has worked with major names in the industry, including Balfour Beatty, Mott MacDonald, and Highways England.
