Whether you're aiming to manage a hotel, run events, launch a new venture or lead a tourism team, this two-year HND prepares you with the skills and knowledge to take that next step — or progress to a top-up degree.
You'll explore how the modern travel and tourism industry operates, with a strong focus on customer experience, strategic thinking and entrepreneurship. You'll study core and optional units chosen by the course team to reflect industry demand.

The modules listed in bold are core (mandatory) modules. Additional optional modules * are also included to make up the total credits required for your qualification — these are chosen by course leaders and maybe subject to change.
Assessment methods are varied and designed to reflect the real-world travel and tourism sector. These include:

This variety supports different learning styles and builds confidence in both academic and professional settings.
You'll study full-time, two days a week for two academic years — giving you time to balance work, life, and learning.
You'll require a minimum of 80 UCAS points in a relevant subject area plus GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
We also welcome applications from mature students with relevant experience, portfolios, or employer references.

• Work experience: You'll have the opportunity to take on a placement in your chosen area, from hotels to travel agencies or event teams.
• Real-world learning: Previous students have taken part in overseas trips and attended tourism trade events, with support from our University Centre Advantage Scheme.
• Experienced tutors: You'll be taught by professionals with backgrounds in hotel management, tour operations, and airline services including Virgin, TUI and EasyJet.
