So what are T Levels? They are high quality work focused alternatives to A levels. There is academic study, coupled with practical, industry related skills and 45 days of industry placement built into the course. T Levels are an alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other vocational & technical courses. Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a T Level focuses on vocational skills and can help you into skilled employment, university study or apprenticeships. If you prefer a practical approach to learning yet want a predominantly classroom-based course the T Level is for you. If you are looking for a career in Allied Health Professionals, such as paramedic, physiotherapy, radiography, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech and language therapy then this is the course for you.
The T Level Health was developed in partnership with Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching Foundation Trust to provide a pioneering programme relevant to the health industry. The core element of a T Level in Health will boost your knowledge in a range of topics such as the principles of good scientific and clinical practice, as well as fundamental scientific concepts alongside an understanding of standard operating procedures, management of equipment and work areas, stock control and storage, and the importance of quality standards and health and safety. You will also learn how to manage data in a healthcare setting. Your occupational specialism will cover all aspects of allied health professions and how to care for service users in different settings and with different needs. You will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with an industry placement of around 45 days. This will provide an amazing opportunity for you to work with an employer while you study, in a hospital or other healthcare setting, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for. You will also study maths, digital and English at an appropriate level.
Throughout the year by a range of methods, including assignments, presentations, group work, written exams, and an employer set project.

A minimum of 5 GCSEs graded 9-4 including maths, English & science. The shortfall in Maths can only be a grade 3 (not lower).
You may progress to university and choose from a range of degrees in in health sector subjects, to a degree apprenticeship or relevant employment. The NHS needs to recruit 190,000 more staff by 2027 to meet the demands of a growing and ageing population. Around 29,000 nurses are employed in the region, and this number is expected to increase over the coming years. Adult nurses work in a range of settings including accident and emergency, the community, outpatients or in hospitals. Job roles include Adult nurse and Operating department practitioners(ODPs work in operating theatres).
