In Stitches - Creative Sewing
Is this course for me?
This course is for students who already have experience of sewing garments but want to develop their knowledge and skills further. During the sessions, students will have the opportunity to work on their own personal projects and use the domestic and industrial sewing machines.
Prior to the course, you will need to buy a pattern for a garment that is relative to your skill level.
Throughout this course, you will:
• Cut out your bought pattern and mock it up in calico or other stable/cheap fabric
• Try on the garment for the fit/length and once you are satisfied with the mock-up, you may buy some suitable fabric of your choice
• Create a finished garment.
• Gain an understanding of fabric types and how to work with them effectively.
• Gain tips for troubleshooting common issues when using the sewing machines.
This is a practical course with no formal assessment, your progress will be monitored through:
Completion of individual projects during the course.
Opportunities to receive constructive guidance & feedback in the sessions.

After completing this course, you can enrol on another In Stitches sewing course to develop your skills further
