Understanding Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values Level 2 Certificate

With issues of human rights, hate crime and democracy becoming more prevalent in the UK and worldwide, it is more important than ever to understand the measures to help prevent terrorism and promote safeguarding and British values in society. This course provides a detailed understanding of how to recognise and prevent radicalisation and extremism, the principles of safeguarding, the Prevent duty and its importance in society, and the importance of online safety and British values.
This course is ideal for learners who wish to increase their awareness and understanding of the issues surrounding Prevent, including radicalisation, extremism, propaganda, social media, and the promotion of British values, such as democracy and the rule of law. You will also learn more about safeguarding and the legislation relating to it.
Aims:
• Increase knowledge and awareness of the Prevent Duty, safeguarding, and online safety.
Objectives:
• Develop safeguarding knowledge to support duty of care roles.
This course is split into four manageable units:
Unit 1: Principles of safeguarding
Unit 2: The Prevent duty and its importance in society
Unit 3: The importance of online safety
Unit 4: The importance of British values
You will complete online platform-based questions — there are no exams and no grades.
To pass, you must show that you have met all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria set out in the qualification specification.
Our qualified assessors will give you detailed feedback, 1:1 support, and clear targets to help you succeed.
Support is available through the learning portal, email, or phone.
If your work doesn't meet the required standard, you will receive feedback, a new target date, and the chance to resubmit.
This course runs over 16 weeks and includes a recommended 115 guided learning hours (GLH). You can apply at any time, with flexible start dates available throughout the year.
There is no specific prior skill or knowledge required for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved a level 1 health and social care-related qualification.
We recommend you already have at least a Level 1 in English (GCSE grade 3/D or equivalent).
