Is this course for me?

Access to Sport is specifically designed for people who wish to return to study and pursue a university degree in sport and exercise, or indeed would like to pursue a career in this area.

What will I study?

The course consists of 3 specific modules for sports and exercise practitioners, these include training and fitness, anatomy and physiology and sports development. There are also core modules including ICT and research skills.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year. Three days per week

How will I be assessed?

Continuous assessment through assignments over the period of the course, which will include some timed assessments

What qualifications do I need?

You will need to have either GCSE English or GCSE Maths at Grade C as well as some evidence of recent study at Level 2, along with an academic reference to support your application.

What can I progress onto?

Many students progress onto higher level courses, particularly in Sports Therapy, Sports Development and Physical Education.

You will be supported by a highly experienced team of staff who have current industry knowledge. We do want to ensure this is the right choice and therefore applicants are asked to attend an interview.
