Is this course for me?

You should study for this qualification, if you would like to work as an accounts assistant in a manual or computerised accounting environment.

What will I study?

The AAT Foundation Stage accounts programme consists of: processing bookkeeping transactions, control accounts, journals and the banking system, basic costing and computerised accounting.

How long is the course?

This is a one year, part time course, covering four hours per week in class and two hours a week studying from home.

How will I be assessed?

By computerised external assessment.

What qualifications do I need?

Students will be required to have GCSE Grade D / 3 in English and Maths.

What can I progress onto?

You may progress onto AAT Intermediate and Technician levels and ultimately membership of the AAT (MAAT).

The Association of Accounting Technicians is recognised by leading accounting institutions: the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA).
