Is this course for me?

This is an exciting course for those who have a keen interest in animals and enjoy a hands on approach to learning.

What will I study?

You will study: Safe and effective working practices in the land based industries. Develop performance in the land based industries. Assist with maintaining the health and wellbeing of animals. Animals in the wild and in society. Assist with feeding and watering animals. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of animal accommodation. Assist with the handling and restraint of animals.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete course work and assignments

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-E/F / 9-2 subjects or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress on to the Animal Care Level 2 Diploma or into employment.

Other Information

The College works in partnership with Thompson House, where we have a purpose built animal farm with a variety of animals including: rabbits, ducks, geese, peacocks, guinea pigs, pigs, goats and many more.
