Is this course for me?

This is an exciting course for people who have a keen interest in animals and enjoy a hands on approach to learning.

What will I study?

You will study: Day to day care of animals to provide food and water, cleaning and maintaining animal accommodation, anatomy and physiology, animal biology including nutrition, growth, digestion and reproduction, monitoring animal's well being and health. Students will undertake both practical and theory sessions to gain the knowledge and skills required to progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete course work and assignments

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English and science.

What can I progress onto?

On successful completion of this course, you can progress onto the Animal Management Level 3 Extended Diploma

Other Information

The College works in partnership with Thompson House, where we have a purpose built animal farm with a variety of animals including: rabbits, ducks, geese, peacocks, guinea pigs, pigs, goats and many more.
