Is this course for me?

This is an exciting course for learners who want to further their knowledge and experience in animal management. If you are passionate about animals and want to pursue a career in this extremely rewarding industry, then this course could be for you. Possible careers include: RSPCA Inspector, Trainee Zoo Keeper, Veterinary Nurse, Guide Dog Trainer and many more.

What will I study?

You will study: animal anatomy and physiology, nutrition, nursing, behaviour and communication, welfare and breed development, kennel and cattery management, dog grooming and animal training.

How long is the course?

Full time for two academic years.

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete course work and assignments

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-C / 9-4 GCSE subjects or equivalent including maths or English and science.

What can I progress onto?

On successful completion of the programme students can progress to university level study and choice a variety of animal management related degrees.

Other Information

The College works in partnership with Thompson House, where we have a purpose built animal farm with a variety of animals including: rabbits, ducks, geese, peacocks, guinea pigs, pigs, goats and many more.
