Is this course for me?

This course provides students with the leadership skills and practical experience to manage a spa or kick start their own spa business. Students learn through work based experience at the College's designed hair and beauty centre. The course is ideal for those looking to enter a career as a salon manager or owner.

What will I study?

You will study a range of units which will include: Wellness in the Spa Industry, Contemporary Spa Techniques, Management Development in the Spa Industry, Managing for Strategic Success in the Spa Industry. A further 40 credits will be studied from the following modules: Dissertation, Managing Quality in Service Organisations, Single Research Project or Consultancy Project for the Spa Industry.

How long is the course?

One academic year.

How will I be assessed?

The programme is assessed through a variety of methods from presentations, to presentations and reports.

What qualifications do I need?

Foundation Degree or HND in the area of Spa Management. Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered. Students must also possess a Grade C or above in English at GCSE or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?

This course opens up a variety of career opportunities including becoming a salon manager or owner.
