Is this course for me?

The Foundation Degree in Spa Management is designed to develop the cognitive, leadership, interpersonal, practical and social skills required to perform effective spa management. The programme provides a solid foundation from which students can progress into a career here in the UK or overseas within Spa Management or alternatively on to the BA (Hons) Spa Management (Top Up) degree at the University Centre Wigan and Leigh College awarded by the University of Central Lancashire.

What will I study?

This course includes units covering; Salon Management, Marketing, Planning & Consumer Behaviour, Professional Accreditation (Aromatherapy) or Professional Accreditation (Reflexology), Diet & Lifestyle Awareness,
Finance, Accounts & Costing, Innovations in the World of Health, Spa & Leisure, Anatomy & Physiology, International Spa Treatments, Evidence Based Practice, Environmental & Health Science.


How long is the course?

Two academic years.

How will I be assessed?

This programme is assessed through a combination of written assignments, reports, portfolios, presentations, practical assessment and exams.

What qualifications do I need?

64 UCAS Tariff Points. Students must also possess a Grade C or above in English at GCSE or equivalent. Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered.

What can I progress onto?

Previous student shave progressed into positions in prestigious spa's across the UK. Student s have also implemented their skills on board cruise ships and at world- renowned hotels. Former students have also gone on to the BA (Hons) Spa Management(Top Up

Other Information

You will be expected to be in appropriate employment within the spa industry during the length of the course.- You will require an Image Centre uniform.- You may be required to pay for additional specialist workshops and seminars.
