Is this course for me?

This qualification will give you the knowledge and skills to start a fantastic career within the nail services industry. You will be studying a wide range of advanced nail services treatments supported by the essential knowledge to be a highly successful nail specialist. You will need to be extremely motivated at both College and in the work place. Attendance and punctuality needs to be outstanding as the course is highly demanding.

What will I study?

The course includes a number of units to include: health & safety, business studies, enhance and maintain nails using UV, enhance and maintain nails using acrylic and powder, airbrushing, prepare and maintain overlay using electric filing, nail art and creating nail images.

How long is the course?

You will attend College one day per week for one academic year with the remainder of your time in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

Through practical assessment, written exam and question and answers. Your assessment will take place both in the work place and College.

What qualifications do I need?

You will need two GCSE qualifications grades C or above with preference to Maths and English. Also you will need employment within a beauty/nail salon or spa.

What can I progress onto?

On to an additional Level 3 qualification, or study the Foundation Degree in Spa Therapy or employment such as cruise ships, spa, beauty salon, own business or teaching.
