Is this course for me?

This course suits people who have achieved Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying. Diplomas can be upgraded into full apprenticeships when the student produces work based evidence. On completion of the Level 3 Diploma, the dedication and achievement you have shown during the course will prove invaluable to prospective employers.

What will I study?

The programme is offered as a continuation from the Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying and consists of practical and theoretical study. You will cover how to carry out safe working practices in construction, information, quantities and communicating with others, building methods and construction technology, carry out structural and decorative brickwork and erect complex masonry structures.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is on practical skills and theoretical knowledge, subject assignments and completion of work based evidence books. There is a set theory test at the end of the course.

What qualifications do I need?

Successful completion of Level 2 in the subject plus maths or English at grade 4/C.

What can I progress onto?

This can lead to higher education courses and employment in the building industry.
