This course suits people who have achieved Level 2 Diploma in Joinery. This course suits people who have achieved Level 2 Diploma in Joinery. This course will help to reach employment in a Carpentry, Joinery or Construction industry. You will learn the extensive skills within the joinery sector and understand the techniques that come with carpentry and woodwork.

What will I study?

The programme is offered as a continuation from the Level 2 Technical Certificate Diploma in Joinery and consists of practical and theoretical study. You will cover all aspects of Joinery including: health & safety within the construction industry, stacking and storing materials and equipment, producing scale drawings, erecting complex structural carcassing, maintaining non structural and structural components, setting up and using fixed and transportable machinery.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is on practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

What qualifications do I need?

Successful completion of Level 2 in the subject plus maths or English at grade C / 4.

What can I progress onto?

This can lead to higher education or a role within the construction industry. The course is also a large component of the higher apprenticeship in this field of study.
