Is this course for me?

Do you want a career in Hospitality and Catering? Willing to work hard to gain skills and a qualifications? Love preparing and tasting great looking food? If the answer is yes to two or more of these questions then the apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering is for you. This qualification is for those who deal with small site food services also some bigger chains in the Food Preparation and Cooking sector may find this a valuable qualification.

What will I study?

The course has four part: Part 1 A food preparation qualification, Part 2 A technical certificate, Part 3 A food safety certificate and Part 4 Employee rights and responsibility at work.

How long is the course?

The course is mainly based on an employers premises, be up to a year long and you will need to attend College to complete parts of the apprenticeship.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by continuous observations, some assignment and exam work.

What qualifications do I need?

A good general education in which you have certificates for numeracy and literacy.11

What can I progress onto?

The course can lead you to where you want to go. If you are successful in completing the apprenticeship many local and national employers will recognise your achievements.
