Is this course for me?

If you want a rewarding career working in a childcare setting we have a number of routes for you to follow, including further study at university level. You will need to have a clear DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) to work in the childcare sector. This course gives you an introduction to working in early years. It will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in communication, problem solving, team working and time management and is staffed by industry professional tutors who will help you to maximise your full potential. On successful completion of this course there are progression opportunities to Level 1 Childcare or Level 2 Teaching Assistants ( subject to entry criteria).

What will I study?

This course is aimed at giving you an insight into a career working with children . It is a short course and can lead to progression onto the L1 Award in Childcare or the Level 2 Teaching Assistants courses ( subject to entry criteria) . It will give you an insight into play theory , safeguarding and child development

6 weeks

How will I be assessed?

Through internally set assignments

What qualifications do I need?

No formal entry requirements

What can I progress onto?

Level 1 Award in Caring for Children or Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools ( subject to entry requirements)

Course fees shown are per annum for University Centre courses. Courses lasting longer than one year, fees will be payable per year.
