Is this course for me?

The HND Computing (Network Engineering) course is a two year programme designed as a progression route for those achieving a Level 3 qualification in computer related subjects. The course will suit those considering opportunities in industry or further academic study. The programme is delivered by industry experts and education professionals who have extensive computing knowledge as well as industrial and commercial experience.

What will I study?

This course includes units such as : Programming, Networking, Professional Practice, Database Design and Development, Security, Managing a successful computing project, Website Design and Development, Maths for Computing, Computing Research Project, Business Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, Transport Network Design, Cloud Computing and Network Security.

How long is the course?

Full-time for two academic years.

How will I be assessed?

The programmes are assessed via a variety of methods, from written assignments and practical work to course work.

What qualifications do I need?

64 UCAS Tariff Points. Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered. Students must also possess a Grade C or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent.

What can I progress onto?

Alumni students have gone on to study a BSc (Hons) Computing top up degree delivered in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Former students have also gone on to establish positions specialising in software to application develop

Other Information

The computing tutors are well qualified having extensive computing knowledge, industrial and commercial experience. Classrooms and Labs are resourced with up to date software and networking equipment.
