Is this course for me?

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed for an exciting career in the Construction industry. Career include: building surveying, quantity surveying, site management and architecture. On completion of the course, you can progress on to university level courses in Construction or employment.

What will I study?

You will be required to be successful in 18 subject areas (units), where the spread of topics covered will enable you to progress into any of the technical areas of construction employment. Topics include: Design, resources, construction technology and material specification. Practical work includes: Lab work, setting out, drawing, land surveying, computer aided design and IT application.

How long is the course?

Full time for two academic years

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through assignments and coursework. Each unit has a separate outcome of pass, merit or distinction.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-C / 9-4 GCSE subjects or equivalent including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

Progression into employment or onto a Higher National Certificate/Diploma, Foundation Degree or Degree course. This course is equivalent to 3 'A' levels.
