Is this course for me?

If you are employed in the manufacturing and design of clothing and sewn items and want to gain a qualification and an understanding of in depth manufacturing techniques and technologies. You are encouraged to evaluate your own progress using your own initiative and through one to one appraisals. You will work with skilled and experienced professionals who have a history of successful industrial and teaching experience.

What will I study?

You will study two qualifications plus key skills in English and Maths to achieve the Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship: Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Manufacturing Sewn Products and Level 2 Certificate in Apparel, footwear, leather or textile production. You will learn about the manufacturing and properties of and design of a wide range of garments and items, the selection of fabrics and the various sewing methods used equipment that are relevant to this broad sector.

How long is the course?

You will attend College for two afternoons each week, spread over a 12month period.

How will I be assessed?

An assessor will visit you in the workplace to assess how your skills in the classroom are being taken into the workplace. A range of methods are used including written and practical assignments/projects.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English.

What can I progress onto?

Advanced Level Apprenticeship or other Level 3 related courses.

Other Information
