Is this course for me?

If you enjoy working outside and working with your hands then Horticulture could be for you. We have highly experienced tutors who will help you expand your knowledge of plants, soil science and turfing. This programme will provide you with the skills and knowledge to develop a career as a: ground keeper, landscape designer, tree surgeon, crop grower, conservationist or garden centre manager.

What will I study?

Learn about either: Production horticulture, Landscaping, Parks, gardens and green space, Sports turf and green keeping

How long is the course?

Up to 18 months.

How will I be assessed?

An experienced assessor will carry out training and assessments in the workplace. Learners will collect work based in a portfolio that is then assessed to the criteria at the relevant level.

What qualifications do I need?

You must be employed in the industry, have GCSE grades A C in Mathematics and English (or pass a pre test) and have a successful interview.

What can I progress onto?

Further study can lead to many opportunities including further education and progression into full time employment
