Is this course for me?

Wigan & Leigh College provides outstanding training facilities in a realistic working environment. Apprentices are work based qualifications designed to promote the practical attainment of hairdressing and barbering skills. They are suitable for learners who are new to the industry through to those who are in a more senior stylist position

What will I study?

Level 2 Hairdressing covers the essential skills of hairdressing which include: Health and Safety, Client Consultation Reception skills, Shampooing, Basic Cutting, Styling and finish hair, Colouring hair, Perming hair, Set and dress hair

How long is the course?

You will attend College one day per week for one academic year with the remainder of your time in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by assignments and observation work in the workplace and in College

What qualifications do I need?

You must be employed in the industry, have GCSE grades A C in Mathematics and English (or pass a pre test) and have a successful interview.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress on to a Level 3 Hairdressing apprenticeship
