We have solid reputation for progressing students into employment and on to university. Courses will develop your skills and knowledge to become a confident professional. This course is designed to provide you with both practical skills and knowledge to become an effective practitioner in this diverse industry. You will spend two days a week in College and two days in a care setting.

What will I study?

As part of your course you will study a range of modules including: communication, safeguarding, health and safety and practical skills. You will also study a range of optional modules. This will depend on the client group with which you are working. As part of your programme you will study a certificate in adult social care and English and maths at an appropriate level.

How long is the course?

Full time for one academic year

How will I be assessed?

You will produce a range of assignments and case studies. You will also be assessed in the workplace by your assessor and by production of reflective. This qualification also has two external examinations.

What qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 A*-D / 9-3 GCSE subjects including maths or English and science.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress onto a Level 3 course or employment. There are a variety of career prospects and Senior Radiographers can expect to earn over £40k a year. Salaries for paramedics and nurses range from £22 - £35k. With experience and seniority, they may rise to £69k. Other career opportunities include Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs work in operating theatres), Prosthetist, Patient Transport Service Call Handler, Learning Disability Nurse, Midwife, Children's Nurse, Neonatal Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Optometrist.
