Is this course for me?

This apprenticeship is suitable for anyone working, volunteering or on practical placement in a health and social care environment as an apprentice. You will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

What will I study?

Apprentices will develop the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. They cover a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures. These qualifications have three pathways; Generic Health and Social Care, Dementia, Learning Disability.

How long is the course?

Up to 18 months.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment methods include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or tasks

What qualifications do I need?

You must be employed in the industry, have GCSE grades A C in Mathematics and English (or pass a pre test) and have a successful interview.

What can I progress onto?

Level 3 apprentices can progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
