Is this course for me?

One in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. For many diagnosis can be daunting and overwhelming. Being able to access the right levels of care and services provides valuable support when people need it most. As cancer treatments are improved and more people survive cancer, an awareness of the impact of living with it long-term and knowledge of how to support people is vital for those caring for someone with cancer. This short course is ideal continuing professional development for those working in health and social care, but is also suitable for those with a personal interest in caring for someone living with cancer.

What will I study?

This qualification is ideal for those already working in, or intending to work in the healthcare sector. It is also suitable for those who wish to further understand cancer support, or those who care for someone living with the effects of cancer. This course is split into four manageable units: Unit 1: Cancer awareness Unit 2: Introduction to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer Unit 3: Introduction to cancer care and support Unit 4: Introduction to end of life and bereavement care

How long is the course?

You can start the course at any time throughout the year and should take around 12 week to complete.

How will I be assessed?

You will complete assessments through an online booklet

What qualifications do I need?

No prior qualifications needed however good knowledge of English is required.

What can I progress onto?

You can progress on to another distance learning course or continue to learn in a range of other courses

Other Information

You will achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification relevant to a wide range of care settings and further your personal and professional development
